Reminder July Meeting

This month we managed to convince Keith Wood to talk to us about JQuery plugin development.

His Datepicker plugin for JQuery formed the basis of the datepicker that is included in the popular JQuery UI package. Apart from that he has developed many more plugins for JQuery.

He has a wealth of experience in development in general and has even published 2 books!

I personally are very much looking forward to listening to what he has to share and picking his brains :)

As usual there will be plenty of pizza and beer, this time sponsored by Hyro.

If we have time, we will again try to have a coding dojo at the end. It proved very popular the last time we conducting a kata.

It is essential for the catering that we know how many people are coming so please RSVP. The link is on the blog.

See you there!

Reminder: Brisbane ALT.NET meeting tonight

The June Brisbane ALT.NET meeting is tonight. Details are at:
http://brisbane.ozalt.net/

This month we are doing a review of Karl Seguin's Codebetter.Canvas.
http://codebetter.com/blogs/karlseguin/archive/2009/04/28/presenting-...

Karl says the project is, "a launch-pad to learn about all types of
exciting technologies. Specifically, despite the extreme
lightweightedness, this project makes use of Dependency Injection (via
Ninject), OR Mapping (via FluentNHibernate), Unit Testing (via XUnit),
mocking (via RhinoMocks) and a couple more trendy topics."

After that we will be doing a code kata (http://codekata.pragprog.com/2007/01/code_kata_backg.html#more). This worked well last time, with
everyone taking turns on the keyboard, one test at a time.

See you there.
